Occupational Studies

Occupational Studies Certificate

The Occupational Studies Certificate provides students with the fundamental knowledge necessary to be successful in their area of specialization. This Certificate is designated for students who intend to pursue an Associate in Applied Science degree, Diploma, or Certificate in the related area but do not currently meet the admission requirements of their chosen program.

General Education................... 12 Credits

Select ONE course that relates to your intended program from the following:
ENG 101 English Composition I - 3 credits (Criminal Justice, Early Childhood, and Business programs)
ENG 160 Technical Communications - 3 credits (Technical Education and Computer Technology programs)

Select ONE course that relates to your intended program from the following:
COL 103 College Skills - 3 credits
Select Humanities/Fine Arts course totaling 3 credits:
Technical Education, Business, and Computer Technology programs require PHI 110
Criminal Justice and Early Childhood programs may choose from the course list

Select ONE course that relates to your intended program from the following:
Select Social/Behavioral Sciences course totaling 3 credits
Technical Education and Computer Technology programs require SOC 101
Criminal Justice and Early Childhood programs require PSY 201
