The City of Aiken Department of Public Safety is accepting applications for Public Safety Cadet. Essential Responsibilities: performing general station maintenance, maintaining equipment, maintaining fire hydrants, participating in training and performing and assisting in fire fighting on an assigned 24 hour shift. Minimum Qualifications: Must have a valid SC driver's license, be enrolled in an accredited college program with 2.0 GPA, and have a financial need. Must meet requirements of SC Fire Training Academy, and pass written and physical agility tests. Starting salary is $12,870.00 annually. Day-to-day cash handling transaction of deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, and other customer requests. Process financial transactions and handle routine customer inquiries and problems. Is responsible for providing high quality customer service, referring bank services, and balancing each day’s transactions and verifying cash totals.

PREFERENCES
• One year prior banking, sales, and/or customer service experience
• One year prior cash handling or Bank Teller experience
Must have excellent computer and customer service skills. Good communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary. Must be willing to cross-train for other positions, such as Retail Services Rep II (Head Teller), Retail Services III (CSR), and Retail Banking Rep.
This is a 7-day branch location extended evening hours and rotating weekend work is required.
