College Now

College Now is Aiken Technical College’s dual enrollment program. It is designed to allow qualified and highly motivated Aiken County, private or home-schooled high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school by taking either general studies classes, or enrolling in either the Pre-Engineering or Pre-Health Academy. Students can earn both high school and college credit (dual credit) or just college credit (concurrent).

College Now students can enroll in many general education courses that are required for, and transfer to, many majors at many four-year colleges and universities. In addition, these transferable courses at ATC cost much less than most other colleges and universities in the CSRA.

College Now Pre-Engineering and Pre-Health Academy students are exposed to a variety of majors within their chosen field, thus giving them a head-start on finding the specialty they wish to pursue in a college major.

All College Now applicants (General college classes and Academies) will need to meet the following minimum criteria:

PSAT scores of at least 50/50 OR
ACT combined of at least 21 OR
SAT scores of at least 500/500 AND
Be in the top 25% of their class

College Now applicants who do not meet these requirements may take the free COMPASS placement test on campus at ATC, but will need to test into college-level courses in order to be accepted in the College Now Program.

How Do I Apply for College Now?

Meet with your high school counselor to complete the College Now application. Ask your counselor to attach a copy of your transcript and acceptable test scores. Download the College Now application.
Once you receive your acceptance letter into the College Now program, contact the Enrollment Services Center at (803) 508-7263 to make an appointment to meet with an advisor.
