2006 Season Recap
The ATC Knights completed their second season under the direction of Coach Bruce Capers with a record of 25 wins and 7 Losses. The Knights were the NJCAA Region 10 regular season champions with a record of 15 wins a 1 loss in conference play. The Knights also were the District 3 runner-up before losing to Monroe/Bronx, NY, in the District Championship game 80 – 74. Tavaris Little and Corey Johnson led the Knights in scoring with 15.8 and 15.4 points per game, respectively. Tavaris Little along with Corey Johnson and Shannon Behling were all selected to the NJCAA All-Region 10 team.
Not only were the Knights making progress on the court, they were also excelling in the classroom and the community. Christopher Martin led the way in the classroom by maintaining a 3.9 grade point average. He was honored at the South Carolina state house for the All -USA Academic Team and won NJCAA academic All- American honors.
The Knights joined forces with the Lady Knights women’s fast-pitch softball team following the 2005 hurricane season that devastated the Gulf Coast. The teams raised more than a $1,000 for the American Red Cross to aid hurricane victims.
We are optimistic about our upcoming season and our prize recruits. We are also excited about at least eight student athletes graduating and moving on to higher education.
