(August 27, 2014, Aiken, SC) AT&T generously donated $5,000 to the Aiken Technical College Foundation to support student scholarships for the Aiken Early College dual enrollment program.
ATC’s Aiken Early College program, developed in partnership with Aiken County Public Schools, allows Aiken County public, private and homeschool students an opportunity to take high school and college classes simultaneously. The students receive credit both from their high school and ATC and save money and time spent in college.
“We thank AT&T for their generosity in helping high school students enrolled in Aiken Early College get a head start on their college education,” said ATC Foundation Director Mary Commons.
AT&T’s generous donation will provide scholarships for 10 dual enrollment students to participate in the Aiken Early College program.
AT&T Regional Director of External Affairs Ike Byrd presented a check to Commons and ATC Foundation Chairman Jason Rabun on August 20. Additionally, the ATC Foundation recognized the Aiken County Legislative Delegation for their support of public policy that allows businesses to prosper and partner with ATC through their support of higher education, and each member of the legislative delegation was presented a proclamation in honor of their support of higher education.
