Admission Policies
The admissions process at ATC is simple. Applicants must:
  • Complete and return the Application for Admission form. This can be done by printing out the admissions form and mailing it to ATC (the address is on the form) or by filling out and submitting the online application.
  • Schedule and complete the placement test(s) or submit acceptable SAT or ACT scores.
  • Submit a copy of their high school transcript.

New Students
  1. We do NOT charge an application fee or placement testing fee.
  2. Complete application form and return to the Admissions Office. If you have any questions, call us at (803) 593-9231, ext. 1247.
  3. If you have taken the SAT or ACT, have a copy of your test results sent to the Admissions Office.
  4. Please arrange for an official copy of your high school transcript (showing graduation date) or a high school equivalency certificate (GED).
  5. Before submitting an application, you may want to go to Counseling Services to discuss your selected major. After submitting your COMPLETED application to the Admissions Office, return to Counseling Services to schedule a placement test at Aiken Technical College or call (803) 593-9954, ext. 1298.
Transfer Students
  1. Arrange for each college attended to send an official copy of your transcript to ATC.
  2. Transfer students who have earned a two-year degree or higher at a regionally accredited college or university may be exempt from taking the college placement test. Completion of certain Mathematics and English courses may also exempt you from the placement test.
