Admission Policies
The admissions process at ATC is simple. Applicants must:
  • Complete the Online Application.
  • Schedule and complete the placement test(s) or submit acceptable SAT or ACT scores.
  • Submit a copy of their high school transcript.
More information on this process is available through the Enrollment Services Center or in the Aiken Technical College catalog available on this site.
New Students
  1. There is no placement testing fee.
  2. Complete online application. If you have any questions, call us at (803) 508-7263.
  3. If you have taken the SAT or ACT, have a copy of your test results sent to the Enrollment Services Center.
  4. Please arrange for an official copy of your high school transcript (showing graduation date) or a high school equivalency certificate (GED) to be sent to the Enrollment Services Center.
  5. After submitting your application to the Enrollment Services Center, go to the testing center to complete the free placement tests.
  6. After completing your tests you will be directed back to the Enrollment Services Center to process your scores and finalize your acceptance. Once accepted, you can meet with an adviser and register for classes.
Transfer Students
  1. Arrange for each college attended to send an official copy of your transcript to ATC.
  2. Transfer students who have earned a two-year degree or higher at a regionally accredited college or university may be exempt from taking the college placement test. Completion of certain Mathematics and English courses may also exempt you from the placement test.
