Instructional Support Services

The Instructional Support Services Department, located adjacent to the Library, maintains tapes and other materials to supplement in-class instruction. Students may use videotapes placed on reserve by instructors or other available tapes with the instructor's written consent. Videos are for in-Library use only. A viewing room is available to students on a reserve basis. The viewing room may also be reserved for small gatherings such as committee meetings.

Distance Learning
We have several ways that we receive and transmit courses and meetings via distance learning. Room 1006 is a distance-learning classroom using two-way audio/video. Room 1015 is a distance learning TechNet meeting room. If you wish to schedule these rooms for use, please see Nelle Tyler. We also offer classes from other colleges via ETV. This is one-way video with audio by telephone. See Nelle for more information.
Please feel free to come by the Instructional Support Services department and talk with Nelle about your media needs. We want to assist you and the students in striving for the best education possible.
Support for Instructional Technology
Most classrooms are equipped with overhead projectors. If a bulb blows or a projector develops a problem, please call (803) 508-7257 and someone will assist you.
Several rooms also have multimedia stations. If problems arise with the data projector, please contact Instructional Support Services. If problems arise with the computer, please contact Computer Services at (803) 508-7257.
If a certain type of equipment is needed during your class period, we ask that you fill out a media request form. These forms are located in the top box inside the Instructional Support Services Department on the workroom desk. You can also find a copy of this form on the college forms page. If equipment is needed for the entire semester, please indicate.
Also, remember that this equipment remains under your responsibility. You may fill out these forms weeks in advance, but we must request at least a 48-hour notice on all equipment requests. This ensures that the equipment will be available when requested. We also accept e-mail requests, but NO PHONE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED. If you move equipment from a classroom, please return it to the assigned classroom when you are finished.
