Coach Bruce Capers
Bruce Capers
Position: Head Coach

ATC Record: 106 wins & 56 losses
A native of Savannah, Ga., Bruce Capers is currently in his fifth season as Head Men's Basketball Coach and Director of Student Life at Aiken Technical College.
Caper’s is building a tradition of success at ATC. In 2006 and 2007 the Knights were Region 10 champions. In 2007, the Knights were also Region 10 Tournament champions, District 3 champions and earned a National Tournament appearance. Coach Capers was named Region 10 coach of the year in 2006 and 2007. Capers was also named 2007 District 3 Coach of the year. He believes in continuously building character, academic standing, and a winning tradition in his students at ATC.
Coach Capers' basketball background began as an All-City high school player at A.E. Beach High School in Savannah, Ga. He then accepted a basketball scholarship at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where he was a member of 1982 NJCAA Region 17 State Championship Team and made a NJCAA national tournament appearance in his freshman season. As a sophomore he was selected All-Conference, Team Captain, MVP, and defensive player of the year.
Capers' journey moved on to Berry College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology. While at Berry, he was also named All-GIAC, All-District 25, MVP, and Secretary of Defense.
Coach Fredrick Summers
Fredrick Summers
Position: Assistant Coach
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Fredrick Summers joins Bruce Caper’s staff after having served as Assistant Head Coach at Lane College in Jackson, Tenn. Lane College captured the 2005 SIAC Championship and the school’s first ever Division II NCAA tournament berth while Coach Summers was there. He was instrumental in recruiting and signing 2004 & 2005 Conference Newcomers of the Year, the 2005 Conference Player of the Year, and eight All-Conference performers throughout his nine-year tenure at the college. Coach Summers has also served as Assistant Basketball and Head Golf Coach at Paine College where his golf team captured the first ever SIAC Tournament Championship in 2008. Summers won 2008 Coach of the Year Honors for this accomplishment. Coach Summers is very excited about helping to extend the winning tradition that has been established here at Aiken Technical College.
Coach Howard White Jr
Howard White Jr.
Position: Assistant Coach
Howard White Jr. has joined the coaching team for the 2009-10 season. Bringing 12 years of coaching experience to ATC, his teams have included St. Augustin's College, Bethune Cookman University, the University of North Florida and Florida State College at Jacksonville. Coach Bruce Capers said, "I have seen Coach White on the recruiting trails for several years. I respect his abilities and his genuine concern for student athletes and I was pleased when he offered his services as a volunteer for this season."
