This position will help lead the Engineering Graphics program in new directions while developing and teaching in one or more of the Engineering or Industrial Technology areas, dependent on qualifications. Under the supervision of the Department Chair, the Engineering Graphics Instructor will help in the implementation and delivery of the Engineering Graphics program and support courses for the Industrial Technology programs while teaching in one or more of the following areas (depending on background and experience): Mechanical Design, Engineering Graphics, Civil Engineering Technology, or Computer Aided Manufacturing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
• Prepare and/or maintain current course syllabi for course taught.
• Ensure that course is taught in accordance with the established syllabi.
• Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
• Recommend adequate laboratory facilities/equipment for assigned course.
• Supervision of students.
An Associate’s degree in Engineering Graphics or related field with five (5) years direct experience is required. Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited school will be required for applicants teaching transferable courses. An in-depth knowledge and experience in mechanical design, computer aided manufacturing, computer aided design, or civil engineering technology is also required. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Graphics or related field is preferred. Knowledge and experience in MicroStation, AutoCAD, or related program is desired. The applicant must be able to communicate effectively and develop programs and curricula to meet industry needs. Employee must be able to work independently and use sound judgment.
