2017 Aiken Community Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

Aiken Technical College and the University of South Carolina Aiken presents the 2017 Aiken Community Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Sunday, Jan. 22. The event will be held at the USC Aiken Convocation Center, 375 Robert Bell Parkway, Aiken SC.  Doors open at 2:30 p.m.  Program begins at 3 p.m.

The keynote speaker will be Bakari Sellers, an attorney and CNN political commentator. 

The event will feature musical performances by the Aiken Community Choir and choirs from Mount Anna Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church of Aiken. There will also be a service fair from 2:30-3 p.m. highlighting area nonprofit organizations.

The theme is: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This event is free and open to the public.
