ACCTCE Approves ATC Tuition Schedule for the 2017-18 Academic Year

The Aiken County Commission for Technical and Comprehensive Education has approved a $5 per credit hour tuition increase for the 2017-18 academic year.

“The minimal increase—which is about $15 per three-credit hour course—will enable us to enhance the academic experience for our students. We consistently look for ways to best serve our students and ensure they are provided with an engaging environment and the quality resources necessary to be successful as both a student at Aiken Technical College and in their future endeavors,” said Dr. Forest E. Mahan, ATC President.

“The decision to increase tuition, no matter how small, is something that is thoroughly vetted. We strive to provide affordable, quality education and, by keeping our tuition low, we can remove a barrier to accessing higher education.”

There were no college-wide fee increases.

Other budget related actions:

  • In anticipation for the increase in state employees’ contribution to the S.C. Retirement System, the Commission approved a 0.5 percent salary increase for eligible, full-time College employees to take effect July 1. This will help offset the employees’ contribution to the system which is set to increase to 9 percent as of July 1. (The salary increase does not apply to the College President.)
