ATC Commencement Ceremonies to be held May 5
(April 26, 2016, Aiken, SC) Dr. Susan A. Winsor will lead her final commencement ceremonies as President of Aiken Technical College on Thursday, May 5.
Two ceremonies will be held to recognize more than 450 graduates receiving associate degrees, diplomas and certificates. The 3 p.m. ceremony will include business, computer technology, general education and nursing graduates. The 7 p.m. ceremony will include allied health and technical education graduates.
Both ceremonies will be held in the Gregg-Graniteville Student Activities Center gymnasium.
“I am very proud of each and every one of our graduates. I have watched them grow as students and become leaders on our campus and in the community,” said Winsor. “The education they received here has prepared them for the next stage in their lives.”
ATC’s staff and faculty members of the year will also be recognized during the ceremony.
The 2016 commencement keynote speaker is Carlos F. Garcia, chairman of the Aiken County Commission for Technical and Comprehensive Education and founder of RCS Corporation, which provides professional staffing placement services for the nuclear and energy industry.
Garcia’s personal journey includes escaping poverty in Cuba to now living the American dream and being an advocate for education, professional development, entrepreneurship and community-giving.
ATC’s graduation ceremonies are open to the public and tickets are not required. A brief reception for graduates and their guests will be held in the College’s courtyard immediately following each ceremony.
