Author's Talk and Reading by New York Times Bestselling Author
Aiken Technical College will launch the 2021-22 season of its Dynamic Dialogues Guest Lecture Series on October 27 with an Author’s Talk and Reading by New York Times bestselling author Ron Rash.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the College’s amphitheater in the 700 building. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the event will start at 6:30 p.m. Advance registration is required due to limited space. Visit https://bit.ly/ATCRonRash to register.
During the event, Rash will discuss his writing and read excerpts from his latest books. The event also includes a reception and a book signing. His latest book, In The Valley, will be available for sale at the event through The Hub, ATC's campus bookstore. Books will be $16 each.
Rash has authored several novels, poems, and short stories, including Burning Bright, the featured common read for students in ATC’s English courses for the 2021-22 academic year. The common read is also connected to the College’s Quality Enhancement Plan titled “Read, Write, Achieve.”
Rash has received numerous recognitions for his works, including the Sidney Lanier Prize for Southern Literature, a two-time recipient of the O. Henry Prize, and was a finalist for the 2007 PEN/Faulkner Award. In addition to being an author, he is a Parris Distinguished Professor in Appalachian Cultural Studies at Western Carolina University.
