South Carolina Gov. Nikki R. Haley has appointed a new Commissioner to the Aiken County Commission for Technical and Comprehensive Education, the governing board for Aiken Technical College.

Tim Painter, the plant manager of the Bridgestone Aiken passenger and light truck plant, was formally introduced Monday during the Commission’s regular meeting.

Prior to arriving in Aiken in May, Painter held several positions related to process engineering and operations management in Bridgestone plants in Tennessee. He also served as the Director of Process Engineering in the Bridgestone Americas office in Nashville, Tenn. He is currently in his 28th year working for Bridgestone.
