Dynamic Dialogues Guest Lecture: Beyond the Myths of Indigenous Identity
Aiken Technical College will host a virtual presentation on November 17 on “Teepees, Feathers, Buffalo?: Beyond the Myths of Indigenous Identity” with guest lecturer Brittany D. Hunt, Ph.D. The event is a part of the College’s Dynamic Dialogues Guest Lecture Series.

Hunt is a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and her work has been focused on building awareness about Indigenous people, culture, and issues.
She is the principal of Indigenous Ed., LLC, co-host of The Red Justice Project podcast, a TEDx speaker, and the founder of the American Indian Urban Education Division at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. She has also authored a children’s book, Whoz Ya People?, and been featured in The Washington Post.
Hunt is a graduate of Duke University and has also earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
