Information Sessions to be held for ManuFirst SC Certificate Program

Free training provided to qualified SC residents

Join us for a free information session to learn how you can get free manufacturing training through our new ManuFirst SC Certificate program!

Information sessions will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11; Wednesday, January 9; Wednesday, January 23; Wednesday, February 6; and Wednesday, February 20 in the Aiken Technical College amphitheater (700 building).

The ManuFirst SC program provides 62 hours of free training in the areas of safety, quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes and production, maintenance awareness, and OSHA-10. Those who successfully complete the training will earn a ManuFirst SC certificate.

Graduates of the program will be able to attend “invitation-only” job fairs with the program’s company partners including AGY, Aiken Personnel Services, Aiken Precision Technologies, BAE Systems, Bridgestone, Graniteville Specialty Fabrics, MAU,  MTU, Second Chance Job Center, and The Carlstar Group.

These companies will accept the certificate and count it as one year of related experience—giving you a chance to stand out in the workforce.

To enroll in the program, applicants must:

  • be a South Carolina resident at least 18 years old
  • have at least a high school diploma or GED (documentation will be required)
  • and be committed to completing the program.

Applicants acceptance into the program is not guaranteed. Enrolling in and completing this program does not guarantee employment.
