SC National Guard Deputy Adjutant General to be Guest Speaker for POST ChalleNGe Graduation

Maj. Gen. R. Van McCarty, Deputy Adjutant General for the South Carolina National Guard, will be the guest speaker for the POST ChalleNGe graduation Nov. 30. The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. in the Aiken Technical College Student Activities Center gymnasium.

This is the fourth cohort to graduate from the program which began in January 2016. The POST ChalleNGe program is a collaborative effort between the South Carolina Army National Guard, Aiken Technical College, Clemson University’s Youth Learning Institute Camp Long facility, Lower Savannah Council of Governments’ Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and Aiken County Public School District.

Cadets selected for the 20-week POST ChalleNGe program have an opportunity to earn applied science certificates from ATC in high-demand fields such as welding, basic tower and wireless installation, production technology, computer networking, and patient care assisting. Participants may also earn additional credentials such as WorkKeys.

A reception will be held immediately after the ceremony. The public is welcome to attend.
