College Level Exam Program (CLEP)

Please note that all persons wishing to take the CLEP®  must register with CLEP® first , where you will receive a voucher number. Then you will need to make an appointment with ATC and provide that voucher number. Both of these registrations must be done prior to showing up to take the test(s). To register, visit  CLEP ®.

Identification Requirements

CLEP candidates are required to present one (1) valid identification. The ID must be a government-issued photo ID with the candidate's name, signature and recognizable photograph.

Acceptable primary IDs:

  • Current passport
  • Valid driver's license
  • State/providence ID issued by motor vehicle agency
  • Military ID
  • Tribal card
  • Green card with signature and photo or naturalization card/certificate of citizenship.

Social security card, credit/debit cards, and employee ID are not acceptable IDs.

Free Test Prep for South Carolina Residents

The South Carolina Virtual Library (SC Discus) offers free CLEP® practice tests to all South Carolina residents.  To access this resource, please visit https://guides.statelibrary.sc.gov/learningexpress-library and click on the LearningExpress Library link. Under LearningExpress Library, click the tab for College Students under Academic Skills and Test Preparation.

Free Test Prep for Georgia Residents

The Georgia Public Library Service offers LearningExpress Library to all residents with a Library card or PINES card number. Sign in to the LearningExpress Library.

*Please leave enough time to complete your test before the Test Center closes. No tests will be administered 30 minutes prior to closing. The Test Center closes precisely at the stated time. Children are not allowed to be left unattended in the testing area waiting room or the Learning Commons.
