New Students

New student borrowers must complete the following items to apply for a Federal Direct Loan:

• Free Application for Federal Student Aid at  www.studentaid.gov  
• Apply for a loan through Financial Aid Self-Service
• Master Promissory Note (MPN) at  www.studentaid.gov 
• Entrance Loan Counseling at  www.studentaid.gov 

Returning Students

Returning student borrowers must complete the following items to apply for a Direct Stafford Loan:

• Free Application for Federal Student Aid at  www.studentaid.gov 
• Apply for a loan through Financial Aid Self-Service

New & Returning Students

You will receive an offer letter from the Financial Aid Office notifying you of your loan offer. You must accept the loan by signing your offer letter through financial aid Self-Service for the funds to be available for tuition payment purposes or for purchases in the ATC Bookstore.

ATC Federal Direct Loan Cohort Default

ATC offers Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans to our students. Based on the 2023-2024 academic year data, an average of 11 percent of ATC students received a Federal Direct Loan with a borrowing average of $6,311 for the year.
