Students attend classes full-time and work 15–20 hours per week in their field. Participating employers help cover tuition and books after financial aid is applied, and students earn from $14 to $20 per hour, with opportunities for pay increases based on performance.

Words from our previous Technical Scholars

My experience as a tech scholar has been very exciting. I have learned a lot of skills with being in the industry workplace that I don't think I would have learned otherwise.

The skills learned are very helpful. With all the knowledge you learn while working, it helps make school and technical projects much easier.

Carver Vaughn

They pay for your college, you get paid, and you get experience. That's all I had to hear and I was sold.

Sometimes I learn things first at Bridgestone, and I can then apply it in the classroom. Some things I learn in the classroom first that I can apply at Bridgestone. It's a great way to match what I'm learning to what I'm doing at work.

Logan Martin

I am thankful for the opportunities awarded to me as a Technical Scholar. Being in this program keeps me motivated to do my very best on the job and in the classroom. I have been on the Dean's List since I started.

The real-world experience is invaluable. It is also beneficial to have assistance with the cost associated with achieving a degree.

Kenneth Shackleford

This is a great program to be in because of the amazing benefits. It allowed you to make money and be able to grow in knowledge and experience.

It has helped me prepare for my future career in a few ways such as being able to get hands on work experience and set me up for more success in the future. The program is able to get you work experience and an almost guaranteed job after college.

Connor Macafee

It's been really fun and has positively impacted my future plans by allowing me to learn the basics of IMT. Others should consider the program to ensure them that this is what they want to do, and it's a really great learning experience.
