Workforce Opportunities in Regional Careers (WORC)

The Workforce Opportunities in Regional Careers (WORC) initiative helps eligible students pursue in-demand technical and workforce fields through scholarship opportunities and student support services. Students enrolled in eligible programs of focus may qualify for financial assistance and personalized success coaching designed to support academic and career success.

Students interested in learning more about WORC scholarship opportunities and support services should contact the Office of Financial Aid or their academic department for additional information.

What is WORC?

WORC was established to help strengthen the regional workforce supporting the Savannah River Site and related industries. The initiative supports education and training pathways connected to technical, industrial, manufacturing, engineering, and skilled trades careers. 

Through WORC, students may have access to: 

  • Scholarship opportunities  
  • Student success coaching and support services  
  • Workforce-focused career pathways  
  • Connections to regional workforce opportunities  

Programs of Focus

Eligible students enrolled in the following programs may qualify for the WORC scholarship and support opportunities: 

Student Success Coaching

WORC student success coaching services are designed to help students stay on track academically and navigate challenges that may impact success. Coaches work with students to connect them with campus resources, provide encouragement and guidance, and support persistence from enrollment through program completion.
