High School Graduates

ATC Within Reach Scholarship


Fifty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded
  • Recipients must be a current 2016 June graduate of an Aiken County Public High School and enroll immediately for the upcoming fall semester at ATC
  • Recipients must have already applied and have been accepted to ATC by June 1, 2017
  • Recipients must have completed their FAFSA by June 1, 2017
  • Preference will be given to high school graduates that have participated in Aiken Early College (dual enrollment, Pre-Engineering Academy, etc.) and/or those eligible for Technical Advanced Placement (TAP) credit at ATC
  • Recipients must be enrolled 12 credit hours
  • Recipient must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5
  • Recipients must demonstrate a financial need

Roland & Peggy Smith Scholarship


Nine $1,000 scholarships will be awarded
  • Recipients must be a recent graduate (2015) of Midland Valley High School or Silver Bluff High School
  • Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 - attach high school transcript
  • Recipients must be enrolled full time at Aiken Technical College
  • Recipients must try to attend the annual Benefactor & Recipient Breakfast held in January of each year at ATC

Midland Valley Chamber of Commerce Scholarship


Up to $1,500 for the Spring Semester
  • Recipient must enroll full time at ATC
  • Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale to receive this scholarship in the spring semester
  • Recipient must be a current year graduate of Midland Valley High School
  • Recipient must demonstrate a financial need
  • Recipient must attend the Scholarship Benefactor Recipient Breakfast held in January of the academic year

Vernon R. Ford High School Scholarship


Up to $9,000 awarded annually
  • Candidate recommendations are made by the high school guidance counselors
  • Must be a graduating senior of one of the Aiken County or Strom Thurmond High School and Fox Creek High School
  • Must enroll full-time at ATC
  • Must have a final high school GPA of 3.0 or better
  • May continue for a second year if student completes 24 credit hours with a 3.0 GPA and is enrolled in an associate degree program
  • These scholarship recipients are selected by the high school guidance counselor. You cannot apply online for these scholarships

Vernon R. Ford Career Center Scholarship


Up to $8,000 awarded annually
  • Candidate recommendations are made by Aiken County Career Center counselors for students in corresponding fields at ATC (CADD, Criminal Justice, Electrical Engineering, Emergency Fire, Health Science, HVAC, Machine Tool and Welding)
  • Must enroll full-time at ATC
  • Must have a final Career Center GPA of at least a 3.0.
  • May continue for a second year if student completes 24 credit hours with a 3.0 GPA and is enrolled in an associate degree program
  • These scholarship recipients are selected by the high school guidance counselor. You cannot apply online for these scholarships

Dual Enrolled Students

Ryberg STEM Scholarship for Dual Enrolled Students


Up to $1,000 each
  • Recipients must be a Junior or Senior in any Aiken County High School
  • Recipients must be enrolled in the Pre-Engineering Academy at ATC
  • Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the Pre-Engineering Academy courses completed at ATC to be eligible for the continuation of the scholarship
  • Recipients must demonstrate commitment to a strong work ethic through documented meaningful volunteer mentoring/tutoring of other students in Technology or Math for at least 15 hours per semester
  • Recipients must fill out an ATC Foundation Scholarship Application including an essay describing volunteerism, academic achievements and awards. Recipients wishing to have financial need considered in selection must have evidence of financial need by submitting their parents last tax return along with a copy of the ATC Foundation Scholarship Application

Patrick Blewett Pre-Engineering (Aiken Early College) Scholarship


Up to $1,000 per year
  • Recipient must be a current Junior or Senior at any Aiken County High School
  • Recipient must be enrolled in the Pre-Engineering Aiken Early College Program
  • Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale while in the Pre-Engineering Program to be eligible for the continuation of the scholarship
  • Recipient must demonstrate commitment to a strong work ethic through documented meaningful volunteer mentoring/tutoring of other students in Technology or Math for at least 15 hours per semester
  • Recipient must attach a current high school transcript to their scholarship application
  • Recipient is encouraged to attend the annual Benefactor/Recipient Breakfast held each year in January at ATC
