Perhaps you want to be a part of a healthcare team to help others get and stay well. Or maybe you’re interested in being a part of the ever-growing technology industry which has advanced our society. If you enjoy learning about how and why things work or using technical skills, manufacturing may be for you. Or, if you enjoy science, many opportunities can be found in the nuclear industry.

Aiken Technical College offers programs in each of these high-demand STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) areas. Many of our graduates are successful and are accomplishing their goals. They’ve made it, you can too! Success is within reach!


Our healthcare programs include nursing, radiologic technology, paramedic, surgical technology, expanded duty dental assisting, medical assisting, pharmacy technician, patient care assisting, and EMT basic and advanced tracks. Labs are equipped with the latest technologies and equipment including SIM patient simulators which allow students to experience various situations.

The College is conveniently located between Aiken, SC and Augusta, GA. Graduates have been hired by area hospitals and medical centers including Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Augusta University Medical Center, University Hospital, Doctors Hospital and Trinity Hospital, as well as a numerous private practices and healthcare service companies.

Information Technology

Students in our computer technology program may elect to take a networking or programming track. Those who already have technology experience may be interested in our network systems management program which is offered completely online! Students have opportunities to practice their skills in environments such as an annual Hackathon competition hosted by Rural Sourcing, Inc. for the region’s colleges and universities.

Information technology graduates have been employed by various area industries within public and private sectors including Rural Sourcing, Inc., higher education institutions, local governments and a number of businesses.

Our manufacturing programs include industrial maintenance technology, machine tool technology, welding, HVAC, and tower and wireless installation. In fall 2015, we opened a new state-of-the-art Center for Energy and Advanced Manufacturing to help support many of our manufacturing and nuclear programs. Students also learn and train in our Manufacturing & Technology Training Center.

Graduates have been hired by companies such as include Savannah River Site contractors, GlaxoSmithKline, Bridgestone, Michelin, AGY, Hubbell, TTX, EZ-Go, Club Car, SCE&G, Georgia-Pacific, and American Tower.

Our nuclear programs are unique because of our close partnerships with the region’s nuclear industries. Programs include radiation protection and control, nuclear quality systems, and our newest program, nuclear fundamentals.

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, V.C. Summer Nuclear Station and Plant Vogtle are among the companies that have hired graduates of our nuclear programs.

We offer electronic technology, engineering graphics and engineering transfer programs. These programs provide students with valuable hands-on activities led by instructors who have years of experience in the field.
