Aiken Technical College Adds Two New Programs for Fall 2020
Aiken Technical College has added two new programs to its offerings for the 2020-21 academic year.
The Entrepreneurship Certificate can be completed in as little as 18 months and prepares students to build their own business or grow an existing small business. The program will cover topics such as small business management and operations, marketing, sales, and accounting.
“This program is designed for individuals who have a skill, hobby, or interest in starting a business and being their own boss. Too often, individuals launch their business without any knowledge of marketing, human resources, accounting, and operations management. Students will gain the knowledge and skills required to be a successful entrepreneur,” said Dr. Steven Simmons, Dean of Technical and Continuing Education.
Also new is the Production Operator Certificate program, which prepares students for positions as a multi-trade technician. Topics covered will include an introduction to manufacturing and industrial maintenance, power tools, and manufacturing skills. Students will also have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications in addition to the Production Operator Certificate.
“Manufacturing offers individuals with a solid career path in a safe, clean, and highly technical environment,” said Simmons. “However, prospective employees may lack the knowledge and skills for entry-level employment. This program is designed to prepare students for operation positions in advance manufacturing firms.”
The College is accepting applications for the fall semester. Applications can be completed and submitted online at www.atc.edu. It is free to apply.
Fall classes start Monday, August 17.
