The Test Center at ATC

Aiken Technical College offers testing services to students and the community.  Test Center services include:

  • Academic Proctoring
  • WorkKeys assessments
  • Computer-delivered certification and licensure tests for various trades and professions.

Location and Registration

The Test Center is located in Building C inside the Learning Commons in Room C-101L. Please visit the following link to register for an exam: https://www.registerblast.com/atctesting.

Academic Exams

ATC Students

Aiken Technical College students can take academic tests in our Test Center for their ATC classes without any fees. Each student will need to provide a student ID or a valid unexpired physical photo ID. All testing arrangements must be made with your instructor prior to testing in the Test Center. Please be mindful of our hours of operation so you have ample time to complete your test. ATC faculty can access the "Faculty Proctoring Request Form" in the MyATC Portal.

Other colleges and universities

The Test Center also allows individuals enrolled with another college/university to utilize our testing facility. The proctoring fee is $30 per test.  Candidates can register for their exams through the following link: https://www.registerblast.com/atctesting

Academic Testing Policies

(Please keep in mind, some third-party vendors may require different check- in requirements.  These depend on each vendor’s policies per exam).

The following items are not permitted in our testing rooms:

  • Electronic devices (phones, computers, earbuds, cameras, etc.) and watches (smart, digital, and analog). All devices must be powered off and placed in lockers if they are brought into the Test Center.

Exceptions: Medical devices and any other electronics preapproved by ATC’s Department of Student Wellness and Accessibility.  The Student Wellness and Accessibility Manager can be reached by emailing flournoyb@atc.edu or calling (803) 508-7410.

  • Head coverings (hats, visors, beanies, headscarves, bandanas, bonnets, etc.)

Exceptions: Religious and cultural head coverings such as a hijab, turban, yarmulke, etc those with religious head coverings will be asked to self-pat the head covering.

  • Outerwear (jackets, heavy coats, earmuffs, gloves, etc.)

Exceptions: Hoodies and cardigan sweaters are allowed, but the hood and all pockets must be visually inspected.

  • Purses, backpacks, briefcases, and umbrellas.

  • Textbooks, notebooks, and any other reading materials unless approved by the instructor.

  • Calculators, pencils, pens, scratch paper, erasers, etc. If allowed, these items will be provided.

  • All food and drinks, including water bottles.

 

During check-in, please be aware of the following:

  • A valid (unexpired) physical photo ID is required to test. This helps ensure the integrity of our exams. ATC students may use their student ID card for academic and Accuplacer® exams. 

  • All academic tests will follow the policies and directions submitted by the instructor. The Test Center is not authorized to deviate from the guidelines set by an instructor.

Exception: Accommodations preapproved by ATC’s Department of Student Wellness and Accessibility.

  • All test takers must place all personal items in a locker. All devices must be powered off as to not disturb anyone in the Test Center. 

  • Prior to entering the testing room, you will be required to empty and turn all pockets inside out as well as lift your pant legs and pull up your sleeves to ensure no unauthorized items are brought into the Test Room.  Any student who leaves the Test Center must repeat this process before entry or reentry to the testing room is allowed.

 

While testing, please be aware of the following:

  • Test Center staff will place the test taker at the assigned workstation. Test takers are not authorized to pick their own seats.

  • Test takers are prohibited from communicating with one another while in the testing room.

  • Any test taker found with an unauthorized item during testing will be asked to leave the testing room and may not be allowed to finish their examination.

  • Foam ear plugs are available upon request.

  • Testing rooms are monitored by video surveillance to ensure testing integrity.

  • You must leave enough time to complete your test before the Test Center closes. The Test Center closes precisely at the stated time.

  • Children are not allowed to be left unattended in the testing area waiting room.
