Aiken Technical College awarded Military Friendly® School gold level in national rankings

Aiken Technical College (Aiken Tech) has earned the 2023-2024 Military Friendly® School award from Viqtory’s Military Friendly® brand. This is the 12th consecutive year the College has received the designation.

The College also received the Military Friendly® School gold award for exceeding standards.

“We are honored to be a college of choice for our local military, veterans, and their families,” said Aiken Tech President Forest E. Mahan, Ph.D. “Achieving the gold level demonstrates our College’s commitment to helping students prepare for the next step in their education and career.”

Aiken Tech offers student veterans access to unique scholarships and sponsorships, an on-campus Veterans Affairs and financial aid specialist, and on- and off-campus development and engagement activities through the Student Veterans Association.

According to Viqtory, institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey, with only 250 selected for the gold award status.

The 2023-2024 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in G.I. Jobs magazine’s May issue.

Viqtory determined methodology, criteria, and weightings with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council, a council of independent higher education and military recruitment community leaders.

Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey response set and government/agency public data sources within a logic-based scoring assessment. Taken into consideration was the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer), and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
