Aiken Technical College Foundation Receives Grant to Support Student Veterans

The Fluor Foundation’s Military Support Coalition has again awarded the Aiken Technical College (ATC) Foundation a grant to help support student veterans as they pursue their education at ATC.

The $10,000 grant will be used for scholarships to help student veterans with the cost of attendance and living expenses while they are enrolled at the College. In spring 2021, the College served nearly 100 student veterans.

“The Fluor Foundation is an outstanding organization that truly believes in supporting student veterans. Since 2013, the Fluor Military Support Coalition has supported ATC student veterans with $165,000,” said Dr. Beth LaClair, ATC Foundation Director. “These students are seeking workforce opportunities after their service, and Aiken Technical College is situated to provide these opportunities to student veterans in Aiken County, South Carolina, and the greater Central Savannah River Area.”

The ongoing support funded through the Fluor Foundation is one of many ways the College provides support to student veterans and their families. Other efforts include a dedicated Veterans Affairs & Financial Aid Specialist, an active Student Veterans Association, and partnerships with several community organizations to help meet the needs of student veterans and their families.

The College’s efforts have been recognized through its designation by Viqtory as a Military Friendly School for the 2021-2022 year.
