Aiken Technical College Foundation to Participate in National #GiveFromHomeDay Fundraising Campaign
Funds raised will benefit Aiken Technical College students
The Aiken Technical College Foundation will participate in #GiveFromHomeDay on April 21, 2020. This national fundraising drive puts the power of giving into the hands of Americans who are anxious to help neighbors and strangers alike who struggle with the economic and health impacts of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
With people out of work, small businesses closed, and people more isolated than ever, the concept of helping our neighbors and communities has been brought to the forefront of social conversation.
Regardless of the pandemic, the need to provide financial support to ATC students has not gone away. For the students who rely on the ATC Foundation, their needs have only increased making support of the Foundation more critical than ever. This is why the Foundation is joining nonprofits from around the country in #GiveFromHomeDay.
Funding is urgently needed to continue:
- Student Emergency Support Funds
- Scholarships for Summer and Fall Semester Books
- Technology Upgrades for Students
The ATC Foundation Board of Trustees has allocated $5,000 to establish the Student Emergency Support Fund for ATC students. Those who responded to the Foundation’s Student Needs Survey indicated they are facing a variety of challenges including struggling with food insecurities, mental health issues, loss of jobs, childcare issues, and access to Wi-Fi. These are just some of the issues are students are facing during these very difficult and unprecedented times.
The community is asked to join the Foundation and its Board of Trustees by making a monetary donation April 21 at www.atc.edu/foundation. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
