Aiken Technical College Students Named to All-State Academic Team

(March 3, 2016, Aiken, SC) Two Aiken Technical College students have been named to the 2016 Phi Theta Kappa All-State Academic Team.

Ashley Morgan and Timothy Pennington were among students from the SC Technical College System recognized Wednesday in a ceremony at the Capital City Club in Columbia. Students are selected based on their academic achievements and leadership.

Morgan, of Aiken, is pursuing an associate’s degree in radiologic technology and has a 3.9 GPA. Her leadership roles have included Campus Ambassador; Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society vice president and president; radiologic technology class of 2016 vice president; Student Leadership Council member; marketing representative; and has assisted with numerous fundraising events to support local charities and organizations.

Pennington, of Warrenville, is pursuing an associate’s degree in nursing and has a 4.0 GPA. His leadership roles have included Veterans Ambassador; Student Veterans Association president; and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society vice president.

Aiken Technical College and the University of South Carolina Aiken will present the 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration on Sunday, January 27 at 3 p.m. at the USC Aiken Convocation Center, 2049 Champion Way, Graniteville. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
