Aiken Technical College to Host 2015 Commencement Ceremonies

(April 29, 2015, Aiken, SC) Aiken Technical College will honor its 2014-2015 graduates at the College’s annual Commencement ceremonies on May 5.

Between the two ceremonies, ATC will proudly recognize 425 graduates who—as a collective—earned a total of 510 degrees, diplomas and certificates.

Graduates of ATC’s Business, Computer Technology and Training, General Education and Nursing programs will be recognized at the 3 p.m. ceremony. Graduates of the College’s Allied Health Sciences and Technical Education programs will be recognized at the 7 p.m. ceremony.

Richard K. “Rich” Allen, Senior Vice President of Operations & Quality Assurance for Centerra Group, LLC, will serve as this year’s Commencement speaker and will address the graduates at both ceremonies.

Allen has been with Centerra Group for 15 years and was appointed to his current position in July 2010. He has more than 35 years of experience, leading security, safety, fire and emergency services, and quality assurance programs. He oversees a multimillion-dollar portfolio and provides management oversight for more than 40 projects. He has successfully led complex security and emergency services organizations in challenging environments to include the Combat Theatre of Iraq and major Department of Energy and Department of Defense sites.

Allen is an entrepreneur who founded Citizens Park Office and Conference Center. This facility is the first of its kind in the Greater Central Savannah River Area. CPOCC—as it is referred to—focuses on the needs of today’s mobile professional and established businesses requiring services such as virtual offices, conference rooms, mail box solutions, day offices, social gathering venues, and many other services.

Allen holds a Master of Science in Public Administration Management from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from North Carolina A&T State University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Cornell University’s Executive Financial Management Program and a proud service disabled veteran who has earned numerous military decorations including the Air Force Legion of Merit.

ATC is located at 2276 Jefferson Davis Highway in Graniteville, South Carolina.

No tickets are required to attend the graduation ceremonies and honor the graduates.
