Aiken Technical College to Host College Prep Seminar, Real Talk 101

Aiken Technical College will host a Real Talk 101: College Prep Seminar for area high school juniors and seniors on Saturday, March 30 from noon to 2 p.m. in the College’s amphitheater (700 building).

The free seminar will be co-facilitated by Roshelle Jones, an ATC psychology instructor, and Selisa Walker, an ATC enrollment advisor.

The event will include a panel discussion on the personal experience and will help students and families answer the question “is college for me?” Panelists include: Alexis Brown, a current ATC student; Ta’lia Gordon, an ATC transfer student; and Victoria Robins, an ATC alumna.

In addition to the panel, there will be a segment called “Show Me the $” which will highlight various resources students and their families can use to help pay for college.

Dr. Roy Jones, Executive Director of the Call Me MISTER program at Clemson University, will talk about how the Call Me Mister program provides a pathway to becoming an educator.

Attendees will also have a chance to participate an interactive necktie and bowtie activity led by Quinton Smith.

This event is free, but registration is required. To register, visit http://bit.ly/RealTalk101 or contact Roshelle Jones at (803) 508-7473 or jonesro@atc.edu. Attendees should register by Friday, March 22 .
