Aiken Technical College to Offer New September Start Term

Aiken Technical College has added a unique option for new students enrolling for Fall 2020.

The new September Start term will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The September Start term is in addition to Fall Terms 1 and 2 scheduled to start on Monday, Aug. 17.

Courses offered in the September Start term are all online or hybrid classes.

“As schools and colleges begin classes for fall, we want to let area residents know that it is not too late to start on their path to success. We offer degrees that prepare students for in-demand, high-wage jobs and transferable degrees for those interested in working toward a bachelor’s degree,” said ATC President Dr. Forest Mahan. “The online and hybrid class formats are especially important as students balance various life obligations. It provides students with the flexibility they need without delaying the pursuit of their goals.”

Aiken Technical College Names Its 2020-21 SCTEA Educators of the Year Honorees

Aiken Technical College (ATC) has named its 2020-21 South Carolina Technical Education Association Educator of the Year award recipients.

The awards recognize employees throughout the South Carolina Technical College System who have contributed to furthering the System’s mission and have done outstanding work in their roles at their colleges.

Area employers are invited to participate in the SC Technical College System Virtual Career Fair on Tuesday, April 20. The career fair will provide employers with an opportunity to interact with technical and community college students from around the state, including Aiken Technical College.

Aiken Technical College, University of South Carolina Aiken to Host Virtual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration Event

Aiken Technical College and the University of South Carolina Aiken will present the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration on Sunday, January 24 at 3 p.m. virtually via the institutions’ Facebook and YouTube pages.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Benedict College President Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis, who will speak on Dr. King’s quote, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” the theme for the 2021 event.
