Class of 2022 Graduate Highlight: Joshua Stanley

Joshua Stanley graduated from Aiken Technical College in May 2022with an Associate in Applied Science: Computer Technology: Emphasis in Networking and a Cybersecurity Networking Certificate while also continuing to work full-time at the college.

He was encouraged to pursue his degree while working in Aiken Tech’s Information Services Management department, where he is an IT Services Specialist.

“I was employed through the college first with the IT department and was excited when I learned how much ATC encourages their employees to enroll and pursue a degree. I enrolled and began pursuing my networking degree with the help and encouragement of my department, as well as the staff and faculty here at ATC,” Stanley said.

Stanley felt it was important to have the credentials to accompany his experience.

“This education has stretched me in more ways than one, working full time while pursuing a degree. It has made me more confident in knowing that I'm able to handle more than I think possible,” Stanley said.

In April 2022, Stanley was recognized with the Outstanding Student Award for the Business & Computer Technology programs. He said he would not be where he is today without the encouragement and understanding of Aiken Technical College’s staff and faculty.

“All those who are important to me have been with me on this journey through the hills and the valleys; the price of this degree came at a cost that those people joined in with me to pay. This degree means just as much to my family as it does to me,” Stanley said.
