Continuing Education: Veterinary Assistant
As a veterinary assistant you will interact with clients and their animals, assist the veterinarian and/or veterinary technician during examinations, administer medications, and perform other basic animal healthcare duties.
You will learn:
• Correct restraint positions
• Common sites for blood collection
• Obtaining temperature, pulse, and respiration
• Prescriptions
• Basic anatomy of dogs and cats
• Administering medications
• Frequent medical problems
• Animal dental procedures
• Receptionist duties
• Radiological duties

(102 hours includes 30 hours of required off-campus clinical training and several Saturday field trips.)
Prerequisite: High school diploma or GED.
This course is being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning February 2 to April 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
