Hospital Auxiliary Continues to Support ATC Foundation, Student Scholarships
Members of the Hospital Auxiliary of Aiken County, Inc. recently presented a donation to the Aiken Technical College Foundation to help fund four scholarships to students enrolled in health sciences programs.
On March 26, the auxiliary’s president, Peter Fabian, and scholarship chair, James Eanes, had the opportunity to present its latest donation in the presence of one of its current scholarship recipients, Ellen Martin, a surgical technology student.
Having the financial support has been a great help, said Martin.
“I was awarded half for this semester and half for the summer,” she said. “The scholarship helps take some of the worry off of me financially and helps me and my husband, by providing us with more time together. I am very appreciative of the recognition from my instructor as well.”
Since 2006, the auxiliary has donated more than $57,785 to the ATC Foundation for scholarships.
“There has been a push to give funding to students in the medical field,” said Fabian. “We are always looking to do more. We are happy to help a student in the medical field…We are happy to help any way we can.”
