Information Session: New Pre-Apprenticeship Program with Rolls-Royce

Aiken Technical College and Rolls-Royce Power Systems have collaborated to create a new pre-apprenticeship program that will provide students with an opportunity to be considered for employment with Rolls-Royce Power Systems.

An information session will be held on Thursday, November 6, for the new pre-apprenticeship machine tool technology pathway, which will be offered through the Office of Continuing Education. 

The information session will begin at 5:30 p.m. and take place in Building F, Room 117-A.

During the information session, attendees will learn about the new program, hear from reps from Aiken Tech and Rolls-Royce Power Systems, and have the opportunity to complete the enrollment paperwork. The course will be offered at no cost for eligible South Carolina residents. Additional information about the no-cost opportunity will also be shared.

About the new Pre-Apprenticeship Machine Tool Technology Program

The new pre-apprenticeship machine tool technology program is a collaborative initiative between Aiken Technical College and Rolls-Royce Power Systems to prepare area residents for future careers in precision manufacturing and machining environments.

The program will be no-cost for eligible South Carolina residents.

Classes for the program will start on January 12, 2026 and continue through June 30, 2026. Students will meet for class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the program, students will learn:

  • Precision measurement

  • Material handling

  • Job planning

  • Drill press

  • Manual milling

  • Turning

  • Metal cutting

  • CNC programming and operations

  • Grinding skills

Upon successful completion of the program, students will have the opportunity to be considered for employment with Rolls-Royce Power Systems.
