Kate O'Hara-Goergen retires after 26 years of service at Aiken Tech

Aiken Technical College held a retirement reception February 23 for Kate O’Hara-Goergen, a media resource consultant. O’Hara-Goergen served the State of South Carolina for 28 years, including 26 years at Aiken Technical College.

She has been a leader in instructional technology and a trusted resource for faculty as they explored new learning platforms and tools to support student success. She has also been an active contributor to several campus committees, including United Way fundraising, the ATC Green Team, and Quality Enhancement Plan committees.

O’Hara-Goergen’s outstanding work has been recognized through multiple honors, including ATC Staff Member of the Year in 2003 and 2024, and SCTEA Staff Member of the Year for 2018-2019, 2022-2023, and 2025-2026.
