Nominate a Student for the 2020 Human & Civil Rights Champion Award!

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration committee presents the Human & Civil Rights Student Champion Award to one student from each Aiken Technical College and USC Aiken during its annual event in January.

Nominations are being accepted through November 22 for the 2020 Human & Civil Rights Student Champion Award. (Complete the online nomination form.) Students may also self-nominate.

To be considered for the award, the student must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Helped to protect and advance the human and civil rights of students on campus
  • Be an active member of a service organization on campus
  • Worked to build inclusive and diverse partnerships with students and faculty on campus
  • Participated in a campus project or assignment that identifies and encourages the values of diversity, inclusion and belonging

Civil Rights Historian Encourages Continuing Work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

During the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration, keynote speaker Dr. Bobby Donaldson shared a message of encouragement and challenged attendees to continue to honor Dr. King through their actions.

The annual celebration, hosted by the University of South Carolina Aiken and Aiken Technical College, was held Sunday, January 26 at the USC Aiken Convocation Center.

Aiken Technical College Announces Fall 2019 Dean's List

Aiken Technical College has announced its Dean’s List for the fall 2019 semester. To receive the honor, students must be enrolled in at least nine semester hours in a degree, diploma or certificate program and have at least a 3.5 grade point average.
