Nominations being accepted for 2026 Human and Civil Rights Champion Awards

Nominations due December 1, 2025

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration Steering Committee is seeking nominations for its annual Human and Civil Rights Champion Awards through December 1 at 5 p.m.

This award recognizes those who lead through service and bring people together to strengthen collaboration and unity across their campus or community. The honor is awarded to one Aiken County community member and one student from each Aiken Technical College (Aiken Tech) and University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA).

The Human and Civil Rights Champion Award recipients will be recognized during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration on Sunday, January 25, at the USCA Convocation Center.

Aiken Tech and USCA are the presenters of the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration. The event's steering committee includes area community members, business leaders, and representatives from each institution.
