Nominations Being Accepted for Annual Human and Civil Rights Champion Awards

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration Committee is accepting entries for its annual Human and Civil Rights Champion awards through December 5.

The awards recognize those who have demonstrated advocacy and support for diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights. The honor is awarded to one Aiken area community member and one student from each Aiken Technical College (Aiken Tech) and University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken).

The Human and Civil Rights Champion Award recipients and winners of the essay and creative visual arts poster contest will be recognized during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration on Sunday, January 22, at the USC Aiken Convocation Center.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration Committee is led by Aiken Tech and USC Aiken, the presenters of the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration.
