Scholarship Recipients to Meet Benefactors During Breakfast Event

(Aiken, SC) The Aiken Technical College Foundation will have its 17th annual Scholarship Benefactor & Recipient Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 in the Gregg-Graniteville Student Activities Center gym.

This event is an opportunity for scholarship recipients to personally thank their benefactor and for benefactors to be recognized for their generosity, said Mary Commons, director of the ATC Foundation.

“This event is special because it gives our generous donors a chance to put a face with a name.  Our scholarship donors get to talk to and learn about the student who has benefited from their scholarship donation,” said Commons. “The students have the opportunity to thank their donor for their generosity.  This plants a seed of philanthropy in our students to possibly give back for other students in the future.”

Scholarship applications are currently being accepted for the 2017-18 academic year. Current students should apply at New students and applicants should apply at The deadline to apply is March 1.

“The ATC Foundation has approximately $135,000 to award in the 2017-2018 academic year thanks to the generosity of businesses, individuals and organizations in our community,” said Commons.
