Summer Pinning Ceremonies to be held for Health Science Graduates

Aiken Technical College’s health sciences division will have two pinning ceremonies Thursday, August 1 to celebrate those who have successfully completed their program of study.

The pinning ceremony for Allied Health students will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Student Activities Center gymnasium (900 building). Students from the following programs will be recognized: Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Expanded Duty Dental Assisting, Medical Assisting, Patient Care Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, and Surgical Technology. The speaker for the event will be Dr. Keith Brammell, ATC’s Dean of Health Sciences.

The Nursing pinning ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the amphitheater (700 building) to recognize those completing the practical nursing program. In addition to the pinning, two awards will be presented: Leadership Excellence Award and Tradition of Caring Award.

A reception will immediately follow each ceremony. Both ceremonies are open to the public.

Civil Rights Historian to be Keynote Speaker for 2020 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration

Civil rights historian Bobby Donaldson, Ph.D., who has contributed to several projects and documentaries on the era, will be the keynote speaker for the 2020 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration presented by Aiken Technical College and University of South Carolina Aiken on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. in the USC Aiken Convocation Center.

2019 Health Fair

Aiken Technical College’s health sciences division will host its annual Health Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Activities Center gymnasium (900 building). This event is free and open to the public.
