Aiken Technical College Announces New ManuFirst SC Certificate Program

Program to provide free training for qualified SC residents

South Carolina residents interested in a career in manufacturing will soon be able to participate in free training at Aiken Technical College.

The College has received nearly $60,000 in grant funding from the State Workforce Development Board to implement a ManuFirst SC Certificate program to provide free training to SC residents who are unemployed or underemployed.

Aiken Technical College and the University of South Carolina Aiken will present the 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration on Sunday, January 27 at 3 p.m. at the USC Aiken Convocation Center, 2049 Champion Way, Graniteville. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

 

For the second consecutive year, Human & Civil Rights Champion awards will be presented to those who have advocated for diversity, inclusion and for the rights of others. ATC and USCA will each present the award to one student from each institution and the event’s committee will present one award to an Aiken County community member.

Nominations Being Accepted for 2019 Human & Civil Rights Champion Awards

Nominations are being accepted through Friday, November 30 for the 2019 Human & Civil Rights Champion Awards. The awards are presented annually during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration hosted by Aiken Technical College and USC Aiken.
