Continuing Education: GMAW/MIG Welding Course

Train using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), also known as Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, and master the art of fusing metal to metal with intense heat created by an electric arc. The course also covers shop safety and health, drawing and welding symbols, thermal cutting processes, and welding inspection and testing.

Successful completion prepares you to take the American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE Level 1 Entry Welder certification exam. Students can be assured the training they receive is based on national standards and guidelines.

The course will be held from May 6 through July 22 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-11 a.m. The course is free for South Carolina residents and cost $1,115 for out-of-state residents.

Note: A cotton long-sleeve shirt, long pants, and leather boots are required. (The lab is part of the certification for GMAW MIG.)
