Construction & Industrial Training

Our industrial, green and trades courses and programs are designed to teach you the knowledge and skills you need to secure a position in a variety of fields or upgrade your training in your current field.

Formal Courses

Forklift Operator

Learn regulatory overview, engineering principles, operator responsibilities, safety operating rules, maintenance and inspections. (12 hours)

Welding Certification

Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) MIG

Train using GMAW, also known as metal inert gas (MIG) welding, and master the art of fusing metal to metal with intense heat created by an electric arc. The course also covers shop safety and health, drawing and welding symbols, thermal cutting processes, and welding inspection and testing.

Successful completion prepares you to take the American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE Level 1 Entry Welder certification exam.

Students can be assured the training they receive is based on national standards and guidelines. Note: Cotton long sleeve shirt, long pants, and leather boots are required. (The lab is part of the certification for GMAW MIG) (125 hours)

Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) Basic TIG

Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, is an arc welding process that uses a tungsten electrode to produce the weld. Build on your basic welding skills and knowledge with this course on TIG welding. This course includes an introduction to TIG welding, lab safety and practical hands-on demonstration and practice to hone your skills. (75 hours) Prerequisite: (GMAW) MIG

Stick Welding (SMAW)

This course is designed for persons who desire to learn the Shielded Metal Arc Welding or Stick Welding process that uses a consumable electrode coated in flux to lay the weld. Students will learn safety and health awareness, the basic units of measurement, and be introduced to blueprint reading.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will study and practice basic welding principles involving Thermal Cutting Processes, Drawing and Welding Symbol Interpretation, and Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) in all positions. (75 hours)
