Instructor, Psychology since 2010
As a young adult, my goal was to become an instructor in higher education. Being a native of Aiken County, ATC was a great option. As an employee, it’s a joy to help students achieve their professional and academic goals. I genuinely enjoy seeing students walk across the stage. Despite some of their struggles or lack of motivation along the way, they did it! When students graduate, they can further their education and/or begin their professional careers, which makes me excited to be a part of their journey. I don’t think I realized what an impact I am making on the community until several years ago; one of my students met with me for advisement and had her 5-year-old daughter with her. Her daughter was staring at me the whole time with her mouth wide open. When the student returned to class, she told me that her daughter was shocked that her mom had a college instructor that looked like her. The work we do at ATC is so important for the community we serve and our students. Be ready to encourage, inspire, and possibly change lives in a meaningful way!
