Aiken Tech’s Expanded Duty Dental Assisting students participate in Give Kids A Smile Day

Aiken Tech’s Expanded Duty Dental Assisting students and faculty celebrated Give Kids a Smile Day by visiting Learning on Main Daycare!

They shared dental hygiene tips and handed out goody bags to help promote healthy smiles. Give Kids a Smile Day, held on the first Friday of February, highlights the importance of children’s dental health. The students visit local daycares annually to share the importance of dental health and interact with the kids in the community.

Dental assistants play many important roles, from helping dentists chairside during procedures to developing infection-control protocols and managing dental offices. After graduation, students can work in private practice, in healthcare clinics, or even for insurance and dental product companies.
