Perseverance and service have shaped Alexis Spann’s educational journey.

Cecil J. Williams, a renowned photographer known for his visual documentation of the Civil Rights Movement, will serve as the keynote speaker for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration to be held Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the USCA Convocation Center.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the February meeting for the Aiken County Commission for Technical and Comprehensive Education has been canceled. The next scheduled Commission meeting is March 9, 2026.

Aiken Technical College has announced its Dean’s List for the fall 2025 term.

Aiken Technical College spread holiday cheer through its Angel Tree and Adopt-A-Family projects, expanding support to 70 students and family members with help from faculty, staff, and the college foundation. The initiatives provided essential items, financial relief, and a strong reminder of the college’s commitment to a caring campus community.

 

Aiken Technical College received a 2025 PEBA Partner Award in the Higher Education category, continuing a strong history of recognition for workplace well-being. The award, presented by the Public Employee Benefit Authority, honors the college’s ongoing commitment to supporting a physically, emotionally, and financially healthy workforce.

The Center for African American History, Art and Culture, Aiken Technical College, and the University of South Carolina Aiken invite the community to attend the opening of Unforgettable: A Cecil J. Williams Photography Exhibit on Tuesday, January 20.

 

The Aiken County Commission for Technical and Comprehensive Education (ACCTCE), the governing board for Aiken Technical College, has announced its meeting dates for the 2026 calendar year.

Aiken Technical College’s Office of Marketing and Communications has earned two awards for its 2024 Community Benefit Report publication.

Joe Lewis, the chair of the Aiken County Commission for Technical and Comprehensive Education, has been named the 2025 Trustee of the Year for the Southern Region by the Association of Community College Trustees.
