New Student

You’re a new student if you’ve never taken a college course. You’re also a new student if this is your first college experience since high school. Therefore former dual enrollment students should apply as new students.

Enrollment Steps

Before coming to campus

  1. Apply For admission

  2. Submit high school transcript or GED

  3. Submit ACT or SAT scores if you have taken these tests.

  4. Apply for benefits

When you’re on campus

  1. Complete the ATC placement test (Accuplacer)

    • If you have taken the SAT and earned a verbal score of 500 or higher, you are exempt from taking the Reading and Writing portions of the Accuplacer. You must take the math portion of the Accuplacer test regardless of score.

    • If you have taken the ACT English test and received a score of 18 or higher and the ACT MATH test and received a score of 22 or higher, you are exempt from taking all sections of the Accuplacer test.  If your ACT MATH is below 22 you will need to take the Math section of Accuplacer.

  2. Visit the Enrollment Services Center

    1. Meet with an advisor

    2. Register for classes

    3. Set up your MyATC Portal account

    4. Get a student ID and parking decal

  3. Pay for tuition

  4. Visit the bookstore for books
