Aiken Voices & Votes will host a free movie screening at Aiken Technical College on Monday, March 28 of the movie, Iron Jawed Angels, a true story of the 1917 women’s fight for the right to vote and run for public office.

Ismat Hasan, a student at Aiken Technical College, has been named a 2022 New Century Workforce Scholar and will receive a $1,250 scholarship. New Century Workforce Scholars are selected based on their academic accomplishments, leadership, activities, and how they extend their intellectual talents beyond the classroom. Over 2,200 students were nominated from more than 1,200 college campuses across the country. Only one New Century Workforce Scholar was selected from each state.

Aiken Technical College (ATC) will focus on Women in Leadership for its March 17 Dynamic Dialogues Guest Lecture topic The guest presenter will be Dr. Hope Rivers, president of Piedmont Technical College (PTC).

The free event starts at 12:30 p.m. and will be held in the ATC amphitheater (700 Building). Lunch will be provided for the first 50 attendees. Advance registration is not required.
